Dr. Daniela Rubin obtained her Master and Doctorate degrees in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC, her laboratory work was in projects on the topic of hormonal responses to exercise in athletes. Since joining California State University Fullerton Dr. Rubin has worked to understand the role of exercise in obesity with a focus on Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). PWS is a rare complex neurodevelopmental disorder and is the best characterized form of congenital obesity. Her studies characterized physiological responses to exercise as well as biomechanics and motor control aspects of PWS and obesity. Dr. Rubin's work includes development and testing of physical activity curriculums for children (Active Play at Home©, FunDoRoo©), as well as exercise training for adults with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Rubin’s areas of expertise include Exercise Metabolism and Endocrinology, Obesity, PWS, as well as Nutrition in Female Athletes. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Exercise Physiology andNutrition for Health and Sports Performance. Dr. Rubin directs or co-directs the Exercise Physiology, Biochemical Analyses and Fitness Assessment laboratories.

Layered gear is smart: mornings and evenings can feel cool, midday can warm nicely.
Rain gear or a light wind layer is wise just in case, but it’s rarely heavy.

Yes—absolutely.
You’re welcome to bring a spouse, partner, friend, or family member who isn’t participating in the camp. Many athletes do, and San Diego is a great place for them to enjoy their own activities while you train.
A few things to keep in mind:
Non-participants won’t attend camp sessions or coached workouts but they can come and watch you.
Lodging, meals, and transportation for guests are handled independently. If you would like them to attend some of the Camp Dinners… Please let us know well in Advance a a small fee will be assessed.
